Current Role

Valerie provides strategic leadership and oversight for the firm’s talent acquisition needs. She leads a team of talented professionals that perform full life-cycle recruiting for a broad range of roles, from campus through executive levels. Her team is successful in bringing the best and brightest professionals to the firm by identifying impactful recruiting and sourcing strategies, consulting with department leaders on current and future staffing needs, building mutually beneficial relationships with external staffing firms and vendors and being keenly focused on the candidate experience.

Experience

Valerie joined the firm’s human resources department in 1998 and has held roles of increasing responsibility since then. Throughout her career at Rehmann, Valerie has gained experience with many human resource functions such as compensation and promotion processes, employee relations and policy administration. Her primary focus has been recruiting, at all exempt and non-exempt levels (including ad placement, resume screening, interviewing candidates and recommending final candidates for hire). These experiences have made her a more diverse HR professional, but her passion has always been in the talent acquisition space.

Actively involved in professional associations, Valerie is a member of the Society of Human Resource Management and the Human Resource Association of Mid-Michigan (past president).
