Current Role

Mark works with clients to develop and implement solid tax strategies to minimize tax burdens and ensure compliance with applicable federal and state tax laws. He currently serves about 400 clients in a variety of industries, specializing in the preparation and review of corporate tax returns, year-end tax planning, cost segregation, and research and development studies for closely-held corporations and their shareholders.

Experience

Mark joined Rehmann in 2013 in conjunction with our business combination with Spilman, Hills & Heidebrink, Ltd. An associate at Spilman since 1986, Mark most recently was principal-in-charge, leading the tax department and establishing strategies and procedures. He has provided a variety of general tax services to clients throughout his career, focusing on manufacturing and service industries.

A Closer Look

  • Mark is actively involved in community organizations including Prizm Creative Community (board member and treasurer) and Read for Literacy (board member and treasurer).
  • Mark lends his expertise to trending tax issues by helping clients structure tax entities and utilizing tax credits and cost segregation studies to lower client taxes and transfer pricing work on entities outside of the U.S.
  • Mark’s longest client relationship began in 1996 and continues to this day. He assisted the client with buying and growing their business, and is currently helping sell the company.
