Current Role

Kelly’s extensive knowledge of assurance and financial reporting qualifies her to serve as the department director, focusing on Rehmann’s strategic direction, training and personnel development. Kelly works with a variety of public and privately-held clients, with an emphasis on financial institutions, closely-held businesses, employee benefit plans, manufacturers and the service industry. She also provides litigation support services in the areas of audit, review, compilation and standard of care.

Experience

Kelly joined Rehmann in 1994 and has led Rehmann’s financial services industry group and the employee benefit plan audit team. Prior to joining Rehmann, Kelly held key financial roles with a $1.2 billion multi-bank holding company, where she supervised accounting, backroom and branch operations, and financial reporting. She also prepared registration statements for acquisitions and debt/equity offerings. Kelly began her public accounting career in 1987 and practiced public accounting with a national firm, participating in various public and private company audit engagements. Kelly has gained significant experience in industry-specific matters, financial reporting, internal controls surrounding financial reporting and strategic direction.

• Kelly is a frequent presenter at the MICPA financial institutions annual conference and has received Rehmann’s Put People First Award multiple times for her commitment to associate development.
• Kelly provides strategic planning, advisory and accounting services for her family’s 4,000-acre cash crop operation in Mid-Michigan.
• Kelly is actively involved in multiple community organizations including the St. Louis Schools Board of Education (vice president) and MyMichigan Health (audit committee vice chair).
• Kelly is a member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, demonstrating her extensive training in complex financial transactions, investigative techniques and law.
