Current Role

David is a Certified Fire Investigator with the International Association of Arson Investigators. He investigates fires involving residential, commercial, vehicle, and marine structures and vehicles. David routinely testifies as an expert witness in both criminal and civil court settings, in both local and federal courts, regarding the cases he has investigated. His investigations result in numerous successful outcomes for clients. He has worked with clients to pursue arson rings by conducting complex relationship mapping between policy owners, homeowners, family members, fires and fire claims.

Experience

David joined Rehmann in March 2002 after a notable career with the Michigan State Police where he investigated and closed more than 200 accidental, undetermined and arson-related cases. He spent 14 years specifically in the Fire Marshal Division. Since he has been with Rehmann, he has investigated in excess of 3,000 fires involving residential, commercial, vehicle, and marine structures and vehicles. David’s expert witness testimony includes criminal and civil court, local and federal court settings.

He is a Certified Fire Investigator with the International Association of Arson Investigators. David participates in annual continuing education courses in current fire investigation techniques and issues.
